My full name is Astrid Ullrich Hebel. I’m a Chilean/German filmmaker working in narrative films, Eventfilms and short documentaries.

I live in Germany and I speak German, English and Spanish. I have experience in production, directing and editing.

My Way to the film industry

After finishing high school, I dusted off an old diary from when I was about 12 or 13. Amidst a lot of cringe entries, I discovered one that stood out: I had written that I wanted to become a director. Funny enough, looking back, it seems this has actually been my plan all along.

In my early 20s, I moved to Hannover, Germany, where I studied Film and later worked as a Director assistant, Production assistant and Prop assistant.

Between working on short documentaries about Chilean political topics, a Commercial for a German app, or editing New Zealand Wedding Videos, my most recent Project, “Un Abrazo” has debuted me as a director. I have been lucky enough to be shown in international Festivals and supported by Crew and Talent.
